What was the last book YOU read? 

I have to admit, I am guilty of reading more than one book at a time and for good reason - there is SO much good stuff to read these days.  My recent interest has been peaked with literature written by folks that are connected to the DMV in some way or another. 

I started with the Very Smart Brothas blog that led me to purchase their book: Your Degrees Wont KeepYou Warm at Night.  These brothas have me ready to read whatever they write.  If you are already a fan of their blog then you know what I'm talking about.  If you haven't had a chance to scan their page please make a point to do so, it's a very refreshing thing to read things that actually make you THINK these days.  Not to mention they hold no cut cards in the things they delve into.  The only way to describe Panama Jackson and Damon "Champ" Young is - BLUNT EDUCATED CANDOR.

Chief Lanier is a BEAST!: Major Weapons and Drug Bust

Weapons that would have been used to commit crimes against DMV's citizens.

I have my reservations about the "Po" (Police), but when it comes to Chief Lanier, I'm proud of her work ethic and drive (and the fact that she is a single mom and doesn't play around).
On Monday, authorities announced that the Metropolitan Police Department confiscated 161 firearms, made 70 arrests and seized more than $7 million in drugs during a yearlong sting operation.

Nutcracker in DC!

What a joyous time of year!

If you haven't caught the holiday spirit yet, The Nutcracker will be sure to get you there.  

The Washington Ballet presents The Nutcracker at The Warner Theater in DC.  This production will be shown all the way up until Christmas, so make sure you make it out to enjoy the arts!  Tickets are sure to sell out so make sure to get them as early as possible HERE!
